Bystander watching Tango (Written Feb 2014)

Spectating the sly movements,
Sexual in essence
You filtered in and out of my taste
I watched the dance of our life
Knew that if we met for a moment
on that floor
It would be forever, eternal
Undeniable
The love that we would always share
Quick flick of the wrist
Smooth shuffle of the feet
Even though I am a bystander
This dance
It surrounds and encapsulates us all
I am deeply sorrowed
That you did not accept the invitation
To this rite of passage
To glide across that smooth wooden floor
What we would have been
Instead
I am
Lost in the movements, of the dance we never
Shared
